Event Details

The Manhattan Library Association will offer a four-part book discussion series January through April entitled "African-American Perspectives." Members of the community are invited to attend the free programs, which will take place at the library, 629 Poyntz Ave. The series is sponsored by the Kansas Humanities Council, a nonprofit cultural organization, as part of its Talk About Literature in Kansas (TALK) program. January 26 "Their Eyes Were Watching" God by Zora Neale Hurston February 23 "I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings" by Maya Angelo March 22 "The Fire Next Time" by James Baldwin April 26 "Race Matters" by Cornel West
